Two new toolkits to support more inclusive approaches to emergency preparedness, response and recovery have been launched, supported by the LRF for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
We're proud to have played a part in shaping these two new Inclusive Resilience Pathways toolkits, which have been led by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).
These important resources put local communities at the heart of resilience and are designed to unlock more inclusive and effective approaches to preparedness and response.
They do this by guiding communities through simple steps to strengthen their resilience - and by empowering resilience practitioners to embrace community perspectives and voices in the work they do.
We'll be using these toolkits to reinforce and build on the strong connections with communities that already underpin local resilience and are central to the work we do.
At the heart of both resources is a shared belief that communities are not just impacted by emergencies, but are essential partners in building resilience.
The toolkits, which compliment each other, are ‘Getting ready for emergencies’ (to support community organisations) and ‘Bringing community voice into resilience planning’ (a guide for resilience practitioners).
The project was a partnership between GMCA and LRFs in LLR, Merseyside and London.
