Week-long training exercise concludes

Multiple agencies, including the Ministry of Defence and Rutland County Council, have been working with the Local Resilience Forum (LRF) for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to carry out a regulated training exercise at Kendrew Barracks, Cottesmore.

The exercise, which ran for a week in October, involved multi-agency coordination to test and improve emergency response procedures.

All of the activity remained within the confines of the Kendrew Barracks site although residents may have noticed an increase in the movement of emergency and military vehicles and other associated traffic in the area during and immediately after the exercise.

This controlled and carefully planned exercise was one of numerous training exercises that the LRF is involved in every year.

In 2025/26, the LRF delivered training and exercising sessions to 1,001 people, helping to sharpen multi-agency emergency response across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
