- 'Winter preparedness' - Wednesday 4 November, 6.30 - 8pm
We're coming to a community near you! (And, if we're not, invite us...)
Our community resilience experts have been out and about talking to people about our Risk Ready Communities programme - so why not invite us to your next community event?
At a visit to Whitwick Parish Council, we discussed:
- why we all need to be prepared for emergencies
- how to identify local risks
- the importance of Community Response Plans
Over the next few weeks, you’ll find our Risk Ready Communities team at lots more community events, including:
- Oadby Residents’ Forum, St Paul’s Church Hall, Oadby, Thursday 14 May, 6.30 – 8.30pm
- Flooding drop-in event, Whitwick Park Hall, North Street, Whitwick, Monday 18 May, 2 – 7pm
Alice Moorcroft-Hughes, Delivery Manager for Risk Ready Communities, said: “It’s always great to meet local people and talk to them about what they can do to reduce the impact of emergencies. By preparing in advance for risks like flooding, communities can act faster and recover quicker.
“We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to turn their community into a ‘risk ready’ community – so get in touch and invite us along to your next community event!”
