Apprenticeships aren't just for newcomers!
Naheem, Donna and James, from the Local Authority Resilience Partnership, are all studying for a Resilience and Emergencies Professional degree apprenticeship at Coventry University.
The qualification will support the work they do to help local communities and businesses prepare for, and respond to, key risks like flooding and power outages.
They’ll cover modules that include emergency planning, response and recovery, and legislation and leadership, helping them to strengthen resilience across the LRF.
The apprenticeship reinforces a lot of the knowledge we already use in our day-to-day roles but it also gives us a broader understanding of community preparedness and why it matters.
“Ultimately, it will make us even better equipped to prepare, protect and empower the communities we serve – helping them respond more effectively to emergencies and recover more quickly.
That's why we're supporting National Apprenticeship Week and promoting continued development for colleagues at all stages of their careers.
