Interactive tabletop kits bring training to life

New, interactive tabletop kits are enhancing our multi-agency training and exercising in preparation for emergencies.

A team from REACT-XR, which supplied the kits, led a demonstration of the kits' contents and used them to work with LRF partners to practise a multi-agency response to a Major Incident, such as a road traffic accident.

The kits allow responders to practise their decision-making, embed JESIP principles in their response and and test their plans in a fast-paced environment.

The session also included a demonstration of the REACT-XR VR capabilities, which include features such as Ten Second Triage, in an immersive, innovative and practical way.

Mark Warden, LRF Manager said: "It was great to see colleagues exploring how the REACT-TTX tabletop exercise kits can enhance local exercising and help embed JESIP principles across multi‑agency teams.

"It was also interesting to see how the REACT‑XR team is using VR to showcase Ten Second Triage and enhance knowledge and understanding, bringing interoperability and decision‑making to life in a dynamic, interactive way."

The session involved responders from a range of organisations, including police, Fire, NHS, local authorities and National Highways.
