Resilience Officer joins remembrance service

A wreath laid by a resilience officer during this year's remembrance day service was a poignant reminder of the importance of resilience.

Resilience Officer James Carter laid the wreath at the County Hall ceremony, on behalf of the Armed Forces Network based at Leicestershire County Council.

James, who works with the Local Authority Resilience Partnership, is also a volunteer with the RAF's No 2 Flying Training Squad (2FTS), serving as a ground instructor and glider pilot.

His wreath was laid in tribute to former members of staff at the council who lost their lives in the two World Wars.

Remembrance is a powerful reminder of the courage and resilience of those who lost their lives in conflict – and of the
values we must all uphold to build a safer, more resilient community.
